Innovative perspectives on digital art at Art Basel's second Digital Day

Basel Digital Dialogues

Today, Art Basel hosts its second Digital Day, bringing together some of the most influential thinkers at the intersection of technology and art. The event will feature a series of insightful discussions, beginning with an introduction by Art Basel and TAEX.

At 16:00, the first panel entitled Digital Art: Transforming Public Spaces, Pixel by Pixel. This session will explore how digital art is reclaiming and redefining public spaces. Renowned artists Krista Kim and Cory Arcangel, both known for their stunning work on the electronic billboards of Times Square, will share their insights. The panel will be moderated by Alex Estorick, editor-in-chief of Right Click Save.

The second panel, How the Digital Transformed the Art World, will explore the impact of digital technology on avant-garde artistic production and the interaction of contemporary art. This discussion will be led by renowned artists Rebecca Allen and Refik Anadol, and moderated by Dr. Jeni Fulton, Art Basel’s editorial director.

The third panel, How to Introduce New Art Forms to the Public, will focus on the role of museums in promoting and exhibiting digital art. This session will feature Sabine Himmelsbach, director of the House of Electronic Arts (HEK) in Basel, and Bettina Kames, director of the LAS Art Foundation in Berlin. The discussion will be moderated by Shaina Silva of Digital Art Week in London.
