Studio Mumbai’s creations explore the intersection of art, architecture and material. Working as an interdisciplinary collective, the studio fosters an environment characterized by an iterative approach. Ideas are explored through a process that integrates time, using water, air and light as fundamental elements in the synthesis of their work. From December 2023 to May 2024, the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain will host a major exhibition by Studio Mumbai Architects, led by Bijoy Jain.
Studio Mumbai’s work has been exhibited worldwide and is part of the permanent collections of institutions such as the Canadian Centre for Architecture, MOMA San Francisco and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. The studio continues to make its mark on the international art and architecture scene, participating in exhibitions at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London (2010), the Sharjah Biennale (2013), and the 2010 and 2016 Venice Architecture Biennales.
