The exhibition Brutally Graceful is now open at B1OCK Concept Store in Hangzhou, marking Rick Owens’ first furniture design showcase in China. Running from October 17th to November 30th, 2024, the show is a collaborative project between B1OCK, Rick Owens, and Carpenters Workshop Gallery. The exhibition explores Owens’ unique approach to furniture design, blending his iconic minimalist aesthetic with a bold, brutalist influence that’s both elegant and raw.
Highlights include pieces from Owens’ well-known furniture collection, crafted with a blend of industrial materials and a refined, avant-garde touch. Additionally, the exhibit features Owens’ HUNROD jewelry collection, which reinterprets the traditional Chinese zodiac through a fusion of Eastern symbolism and Owens’ modern design approach, creating a fascinating dialogue between cultural heritage and contemporary art. A rare piece from the personal collection of Michèle Lamy, Owens’ creative partner, is also on display, offering visitors an intimate glimpse into their shared artistic vision.
