Capturing Motion

A recent collaboration between photographer Mathieu Forget and athlete Anne-Cécile Ciofani Durbant captured the pair playing rugby within the historic walls of the Musée Carnavalet. Mathieu Forget, known for his work in motion and levitation photography, led the project, combining elements of sport and art. Anne Ciofani Durbant, a celebrated French rugby player, brought her athleticism to the unique setting.

With the Olympic Games taking place in Paris this year, many museums have prepared special projects to coincide with this unique event. One of these is Paris Musées Celebrates the Games!, the summer programme of the Parisian museums in the run-up to the Olympic Games. The project aims to bring together art and sport and showcase their links through various events and exhibitions.

In preparation for the Olympic Games, Mathieu Forget has also collaborated with Berluti to create a series of artistic photographs of French athletes in exclusive Berluti outfits, capturing the intersection of art, sport and fashion. These works highlight the elegance and movement of Olympic disciplines, reflecting Forget’s unique style of defying gravity and merging cultural and training spaces. This project will be presented at the Berluti boutique at 9 rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré from June 1st to September 9th, 2024.
