American artist Sterling Ruby collaborated with OTW by Vans to launch Clash the Wall, a new skate shoe that was unveiled at an event in Los Angeles featuring a custom skate park co-created with PLAYLAB, INC. The debut coincided with the opening of Frieze LA 2024 and included performances by guest artists and a pop-up skate installation.
Ruby’s first collaboration with Vans introduces Clash the Wall, a skate shoe that fuses four iconic Vans styles and showcases his distinctive use of colour. S.R. STUDIO. LA. CA., the apparel arm of Ruby’s studio, spearheaded the project, marking his first official collaboration with Vans after teasing it in Paris in 2023.
