Dover Street Market

Dover Street Market

The long-awaited Paris store of Dover Street Market, created by Rei Kawakubo and Adrian Joffe, will open its doors on May 24th. This is the eighth flagship store worldwide and will breathe new life into the Marais district at 35-37 Rue des Francs-Bourgeois, Paris.

The store promises a unique shopping experience, occupying the first and second floors and one of the three basements of the historic Hôtel de Coulanges. The other two basements and the courtyard will be used for art, literature, music and community events. In addition, the third to fifth floors will support and promote around 15 emerging brands such as Airei, Erl and Liberal Youth Ministry.

Inside, visitors will find a café, Rose Bakery and a wide range of products from COMME des GARÇONS and 150 avant-garde designers. The store’s innovative design by Kawakubo features no window displays, embodying the concept of new chaos. The opening will be celebrated with an exhibition entitled COMME des GARÇONS for and by Paolo Roversi. There will also be a limited-time Artist in Residence installation in the basement by British designer Matty Bovan, who will be customising T-shirts and creating clothes from dead stock.
