Rei Kawakubo continues to push fashion beyond the runway with a new site-specific installation at Dover Street Market Paris. Created with Slovenian artist Nejc Prah, the work turns the store’s courtyard into a striking encounter between graphics, architecture, and fashion.
From retail space to spatial experience
Positioned between the street and the store, the courtyard becomes a passage visitors inhabit before entering the retail floors. Kawakubo treats space as an extension of the garment, while Prah’s bold graphic language introduces a vivid visual counterpoint, creating a dynamic conversation between form and image.

The installation serves as the experiential second chapter of Comme des Garçons Homme Plus Spring/Summer 2027. While the runway show took place at Élysée Montmartre, the courtyard invites the public to engage with the collection through movement and atmosphere.
