Stone Island has been host to a comprehensive exhibition, Selected Works_Seoul ‘982-023’: The Stone Island Archive. It was the largest installation in the brand’s universe and was held during the second edition of Frieze Seoul in September 2023. The exhibition was a journey through decades of innovation in product design. It featured over 70 key Stone Island pieces, including pieces from the first collection in 1982. Special emphasis was placed on the Pure Shell jacket and the brand’s experimentation with ice jackets and reflective materials.
Selected Works_Seoul ‘982-023’: The Stone Island Archive opens with a soundproofed area that gives visitors a taste of what is to come. The first encounter with Stone Island designs is hands-on and engaging, as a series of refrigerators display the latest versions of the fascinating Stone Island Ice Jacket. Visitors can experience the remarkable transformation these thermosensitive garments undergo when exposed to different temperatures. At the heart of the exhibition, the main hall resonates with a grand presentation of 45 archival pieces, creating a cathedral-like atmosphere.
