Golden Dreams

Currently on display at the Guardian Art Center in Beijing, L’Or de Dior is a radiant tribute to the intersection of fashion, art and culture through the theme of gold. The project, which runs until September 29th, 2024, is a grand celebration of Dior’s historical and artistic links with the colour gold, highlighting its significance in both French and Chinese culture. The exhibition features 15 themed rooms filled with archival fashion pieces, artworks and immersive installations, creating a multi-sensory journey for visitors.

The spatial structure of the exhibition has been carefully curated to immerse visitors in a dreamlike experience, starting with a ‘cabinet of curiosities’ that explores Dior’s iconic relationship with gold. Highlights include golden couture gowns, artist-designed Lady Dior bags and a room dedicated to Dior’s iconic fragrance, J’adore, complete with a golden dress worn by Rihanna in the latest campaign.

As part of the Croisements 60 festival, which celebrates 60 years of diplomatic relations between China and France, L’Or de Dior pays tribute to the brand’s heritage and showcases the work of 14 contemporary Chinese artists. This artistic dialogue between East and West is a central theme of the exhibition, reflecting Dior’s global influence and cultural relevance. Visitors can reserve their free entry through Dior’s WeChat Mini programme.
