HADES has unveiled a stunning new collection in collaboration with acclaimed actress Tilda Swinton, celebrating her diverse and iconic filmography. The line consists of three knitwear pieces, three skirts and two scarves, each meticulously crafted in Scotland and England to capture the essence of Swinton’s most memorable roles.
The Last of England cardigan and skirt pay homage to Derek Jarman’s 1987 film with scissor motifs, capturing the film’s poignant final scene. The Orlando knit and skirt are inspired by Swinton’s 1992 performance, with chapter headings and a ruffled neck evoking 17th century fashion, while the skirt is decorated with stills from the film. The Female Perversions skirt echoes the striking visuals of Susan Streitfeld’s 1996 film, with monochrome drawings of legs. Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria (2018) inspired the Mother cardigan, which is adorned with surrealist red hands across the chest. The Tilda knit in dark brown wool is a tribute to the actress herself, with bold teal lettering and signature red circles.
From 1st to 29th September 2024, this unique collection will be available both online and at the HADES pop-up shop at 31 Brook Street, Mayfair, London. This exclusive pop-up space invites visitors to explore the intricate craftsmanship behind each piece and immerse themselves in the world of Tilda Swinton through the lens of fashion.
