Designers Desiree Heiss and Ines Kaag, who work under the brand Bless, create living sculptures, hybrid garments that timelessly present seasonal fashion collections, and installations. Heiss, based in Paris, and Kaag, based in Berlin, have a unique way of working on their own terms, fully engaged in their creative process.
Impressed by Fendi’s craftsmanship, care and sense of community, Heiss and Kaag were inspired to gain a deeper understanding of the brand. To understand the inner workings of the fashion house, they asked to spend time with employees from different departments. The installation reflected the artists’ love for this structure, for all the women they met and for the feminine power they felt. This experience led them to develop a shared creative language with the Fendi team.
Backfrontal, with scenery at the front and alcoves at the back, consists of four double-sided screens made by Fendi Casa. Highlighting the importance of true collaboration in the hectic pace of modern life, Backfrontal is a blend of theatrical performance and a tribute to the importance of creative work.
