Foster + Partners has unveiled the first glimpse of its pavilion design for Saudi Arabia at Expo 2025 Osaka. The pavilion is located on the Yumeshima waterfront. It is designed to evoke the essence of exploring Saudi Arabia’s desert landscapes, cities and towns. It is not only a spatial experience. It also serves as a platform for immersive audio-visual engagement, connecting visitors to the yet-to-be-discovered wonders of the Kingdom.
The pavilion is committed to achieving the highest level of the Japanese Green Building Rating System, using low-carbon materials, energy-efficient lighting, rainwater harvesting and photovoltaic technologies for power generation. It is also on track to achieve a net zero operational carbon target. In addition, the incorporation of a number of WELL design principles aims to improve the health and well-being of the building’s occupants.
