The innovative partnership between LOEWE and artist Lynda Benglis introduces oversized bronze sculptures that bring a fresh perspective to the fashion runway. Known for revolutionizing post-war sculpture, Benglis skillfully combines form and materiality to push boundaries and redefine the concept of sculptural art. Her work for LOEWE consists of enlarged bronze sculptures that play with light, creating a captivating and ever-changing visual experience.
Anderson’s collection was inspired by a juxtaposition of proportions reminiscent of Benglis’ voluminous sculptures. It is worth noting, however, that the high-waisted trousers are still designed for a slender figure. Sculptures such as Bounty, Amber Waves and Fruited Plane tower above the models walking beneath them, serving as creative contexts for the garments and emphasizing themes of water and scale. Alternatively, the sculptures could be seen as a backdrop to the captivating spectacle of the fashion show.
In addition to the Spring/Summer 2024 collection, Lynda Benglis has created physical jewelry pieces such as bracelets, rings, and earrings.
