Cartier Ginza Rinko Kawauchi brand storytelling

Magic in the making: Cartier Ginza honors its creative legacy

At Cartier Ginza, the Maison has transformed its Ginza 2-chome boutique into an immersive stage for The Magic of Cartier’s Artisans, a poetic exploration of craftsmanship and brand storytelling. Running from February 7th to February 23rd, 2026, the exhibition marks the final chapter of the Maison de Panthère series and celebrates the savoir-faire at the heart of Cartier’s creative universe.

Guided by the emblematic Panthère, visitors journey through dreamlike forests and rocky deserts—an imaginative scenography that reveals the human hands and meticulous artistry behind the Maison’s jewelry ateliers and watchmaking workshops. The experience unfolds across three floors, each offering a distinct perspective on Cartier’s enduring commitment to excellence.

Rinko Kawauchi: visual poetry meets high jewelry

A highlight of the exhibition is the evocative photography of Rinko Kawauchi, whose ethereal lens captures intimate moments inside Cartier’s High Jewelry Atelier in Paris. Known for transforming the everyday into visual poetry, Kawauchi documents the quiet concentration of artisans at work—hands shaping wax, carving gemstones, and setting precious stones with extraordinary precision.

Particular attention is given to the skilled female artisans whose expertise defines many of the Maison’s most exceptional creations. Their presence underscores Cartier’s tribute to human talent as the true foundation of luxury.

Craft as brand storytelling

Beyond the photographs, the exhibition presents portraits of artisans, demonstrations of rare crafts such as glyptics, and insights into the work of those responsible for the architectural and decorative elements of Cartier boutiques worldwide. Participatory workshops hosted by the Cartier Jewellery Institute further reinforce the Maison’s dedication to preserving and transmitting artisanal knowledge.

As the Ginza 2-chome space prepares for its next evolution—following the opening of Cartier’s largest Asian flagship at Ginza 4-chome in September 2025—The Magic of Cartier’s Artisans stands as a powerful statement of brand storytelling. It reaffirms Cartier’s belief that luxury is not only about precious materials, but about the narratives, heritage, and human artistry that bring them to life.

Open daily from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM at 2-6-12 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo, the free exhibition invites visitors to witness the magic behind the Maison’s enduring legacy.
