‘Infinite Bodies’: experience the future of dance before it closes

London’s Wayne McGregor: Infinite Bodies exhibition at Somerset House is entering its final week, with doors closing on February 22nd, 2026. This groundbreaking project explores the human body in the age of AI, inviting visitors to reflect on movement, technology, and physical intelligence through multi-sensory installations.

Wayne McGregor: a visionary choreographer in the age of AI

Wayne McGregor, internationally acclaimed choreographer and director, has spent three decades pushing the boundaries of dance, blending performance with robotics, AI, and interactive media. Wayne McGregor: Infinite Bodies presents a curated selection of works from his career, featuring collaborations with innovators across film, fashion, music, and visual arts, including Max Richter, Radiohead, Gareth Pugh, and Industrial Light & Magic. Visitors encounter installations like AISOMA, an AI-powered choreographic tool developed with Google Arts & Culture, which records and generates new movement from participant input.

Immersive experience: On The Other Earth

Extending the exhibition beyond Somerset House, the On The Other Earth installation at Stone Nest offers a 57-minute 3D, 360° immersive performance. Surrounded by a panoramic LED environment, audiences witness hyperreal dancers from Company Wayne McGregor and the Hong Kong Ballet moving around them, creating an unprecedented sense of presence and kinesthetic empathy. This post-cinematic work reimagines dance performance, placing visitors at the heart of the choreography while exploring the evolving role of the body in the digital era.

As the exhibition nears its finale, Wayne McGregor: Infinite Bodies offers a rare opportunity to explore the emotional, spatial, and technological dimensions of dance in the age of AI. Dive into our conversation with McGregor to uncover the interplay between space and movement and to discover how his practice continues to evolve.
