OFFSCREEN 2024

OFFSCREEN 2024

Starting today, October 16th, and running through October 20th, 2024, OFFSCREEN returns to the Grand Garage Haussmann for its third edition. This year’s event offers a last chance to explore the building’s unique brutalist structure before its transformation. OFFSCREEN features 28 solo presentations by international avant-garde, historical, and contemporary artists, focusing on installations and experimental image-based work.

Under Artistic Director Julien Frydman, the event balances artistic curation and commercial appeal, drawing interest from collectors, professionals, and art enthusiasts. This year’s guest of honor is acclaimed filmmaker Chantal Akerman, whose influential work aligns with the festival’s commitment to innovative visual practices. Her installation complements the concurrent exhibition Chantal Akerman – Travelling at Jeu de Paume.

In collaboration with partners like Lombard Odier and Dior Parfums, OFFSCREEN showcases a blend of artistic initiatives. Dior presents Little Spoon, an installation by Valentin Derom, winner of the Dior Photography and Visual Arts Award for Young Talents. The newly introduced OFFSCREEN x Cultish Prize, valued at €10,000, will be awarded to a standout artistic proposal by a panel of guest curators.

OFFSCREEN also partners with Artforum to present thematic collections from its archives, enhancing access to significant art discourse. The Printed Matter OFFSCREEN Bookshop will feature a selection of artists’ books, aligning with the festival’s focus on experimental art forms.
