On Friday, April 17th, Thibaut Grevet will present his New York City Ballet art series at Dover Street Market Paris. Blending movement and visual experimentation, the ballet series will be launched alongside an exhibition and signing event, bringing the intimacy of dance into a new spatial and cultural context.
Book launch and exhibition
An opening event will take place on April 17th at 7.30 pm, featuring a launch party and book signing. The exhibition will then run from April 18th to May 24th, 2026. Taking place in the courtyard of Dover Street Market Paris, this presentation offers a rare opportunity to experience Grevet’s work in person and meet the artist.
The limited-edition Ballet book focuses on dancers from the New York City Ballet. Captured in autumn 2025, the images capture the quiet intensity of preparation, rehearsal and rest, moving beyond performance itself. Rather than documenting movement at its peak, Grevet lingers on the moments before and after: the breath, the pause and the tension that shape the act.
Inside the New York City Ballet Art Series
At the heart of the Ballet series is an exploration of the human body, both as a subject and as a landscape. Grevet’s approach, which lies somewhere between reality and reverie, blurs the boundaries between dancer and environment. The aesthetic that first appeared in his debut book Blur reappears here through layered imagery, soft focus and a fascination with imperfection.
Inspired by Gjon Mili, Grevet revisits stroboscopic techniques through digital experimentation during the creation of the Ballet series, producing images in which time appears suspended and movement takes on a textural quality, revealing the emotional depth of ballet.
