Rabanne partners with Art Basel to present The Rabanne Arts Factory. For sixty years, art has been an integral part of Rabanne’s mission to promote a more imaginative, creative and inclusive future. This ambitious global programme aims to empower the next generation of underrepresented digital image makers through their unique art.
Following a call for submissions in January 2024, supported by Dazed, participants were invited to visualise new realities. Rabanne partnered with Art Basel, the world’s most prestigious contemporary art fair, to celebrate these young artists and provide them with a globally recognised platform.
The Rabanne Arts Factory has assembled a jury of international fashion and art experts, chaired by Julien Dossena, Rabanne’s artistic director, alongside Jefferson Hack, founder of Dazed Media, Venus Lau, curator and writer, and Claude Adjil, curator. Bridget Finn, director of Art Basel Miami Beach, will also participate as a mentor. On June 12th, the jury announced the six finalists at Art Basel: Buse Simon (UK), Alice Bucknell (USA), Elizabeth O’Brien (UK), Lorenzo Risani (Italy), Lucy Ellis (UK) and Lola Moniz (France).
During a panel discussion entitled The Rabanne Arts Factory: Opening Spaces for New Imagery, the jury discussed the importance of this new generation of digital artists and the Rabanne Arts Factory’s mission to support their artistic development. The final winner, to be announced in the autumn, will be supported at various stages of their creative careers through mentoring by Rabanne executives, visibility, image creation and financial support for their work. They will also have the opportunity to exhibit their work at Art Basel Miami Beach from December 6th to 8th.
