Silk Room

Eva Jospin presents Silk Room at Versailles, a stunning exhibition on show until September 29th at the historic Versailles Orangery, where Dior Parfums is a patron. This work of art invites visitors to experience the ethereal architecture and summer charm of the room. Originally unveiled by Dior’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri at the Musée Rodin’s Autumn/Winter 2020-21 Haute Couture catwalk, the 350-foot panoramic embroidery installation captivates with its intricate design and vibrant colours.

Jospin’s long-standing artistic practice, which focuses on nature and architecture, is evident in this immersive work. The Silk Room, inspired by the Palazzo Colonna and Virginia Woolf’s A Room of One’s Own, was created in collaboration with the Chanakya School of Craft in Mumbai and features over 400 shades of cotton, silk and jute.

The exhibition also includes two additional embroidered panels that enhance the lush imagery of flora and fauna. These panels create a dialogue with Hubert Robert’s Apollo’s Baths Grove, reflecting the enchanting gardens of Versailles. Dior Parfums has launched a special Miss Dior fragrance, a limited-edition perfume encased in a floral-embroidered trunk designed by Jospin.

This exhibition continues Dior’s longstanding partnership with Versailles, including the restoration of the Queen’s Grove and past events such as the 60th anniversary celebrations with John Galliano’s collection.
