Birkenstock 1774 has unveiled Ensemble 1774, a new creative platform dedicated to Designer Collaborations, with its first chapter led by footwear designer Thibo Denis. The debut collection launched on September 20th with an exclusive pre-release at Dover Street Market and DSML E-SHOP, before its global release on October 2nd.
Designer Collaborations: Ensemble 1774 launch
Positioned within Birkenstock’s high-end 1774 line, Ensemble 1774 operates from a Paris-based creative studio, envisioned as a hub for innovative partnerships. The project invites forward-thinking designers to reinterpret Birkenstock’s classic DNA through contemporary craft and cultural narratives.
The inaugural collaboration highlights Thibo Denis, a footwear designer recognized for shaping some of the most hyped sneakers and sandals at Dior and Louis Vuitton. His approach combines functional form with bold experimentation, making him a fitting choice to inaugurate Birkenstock 1774’s new platform.
Thibo Denis x Birkenstock collection: three exclusive models
For this collaboration, Denis reimagined three silhouettes:
- Uerzell — a slip-on mule crafted in taupe, plasma, and maroon suede with a cork midsole, accented by slim laces for a modern twist.
- Stroedt — a low-profile lace-up with a single strap nodding to Birkenstock’s iconic sandal design, offered in black, bone, and plasma.
- Goerlitz — characterized by chunky proportions and oversized laces, available in black, brown, and mink.
Each style is finished with Birkenstock’s bone-pattern outsole and marked with the signature blue 1774 insignia.
With Ensemble 1774, Birkenstock signals its intent to move beyond tradition, enlisting visionary talents to expand its language of craft, function, and cultural relevance. The Thibo Denis x Birkenstock collaboration sets the tone for future Designer Collaborations—merging outdoor energy with elevated style, and proving that Birkenstock’s creative horizons extend far beyond its iconic cork-soled sandals.
