Time, body, and transformation: Miles Greenberg at El Badi Palace

Miles Greenberg’s Le Miroir (Act I) unfolded at El Badi Palace in Marrakech on February 1st, 2025, immersing audiences in a durational performance exploring self-confrontation and transformation. Drawing inspiration from Andrey Tarkovsky’s The Mirror (1975), the work examined the interplay between violence and intimacy through slow, ritualistic actions. Performers engaged in deliberate movements that reflected the passage of time and its effects on the body and mind. The performance was commissioned by ICD Brookfield Place Arts Programme in Dubai and presented in partnership with 1-54 Contemporary African Art Fair. The second act, Le Miroir (Act II), will take place in the Dubai desert, culminating in a multi-channel film premiering in April 2025.

Greenberg, known for his immersive, site-specific works, continues to push the boundaries of durational performance. Le Miroir was supported by the Ministry of Culture, Youth, and Communication of the Kingdom of Morocco.
