Plans for the Hora Vertikale residential development in Tirana, a distinctive skyscraper comprising 13 staggered cube volumes, have been unveiled by Portuguese design firm OODA.
Scheduled to begin construction in spring 2024, the 140-meter-high building will integrate apartments above a park with public amenities, creating what OODA describes as a unique vertical village in the middle of a large green city in the Albanian capital. The design features 13 cubes of varying design, each measuring 22.5 meters by 22.5 meters and seven stories high, showcasing the studio’s vision for an engaging and art-inspired urban environment. OODA says the structure will use materials sourced locally in Albania, reducing its carbon footprint while supporting the local economy.
