Christie’s presents Wolfgang Tillmans: The Way We Look, a rare collection of 15 works by the renowned German photographer, on view at Christie’s King Street in London from February 12th to 21st, 2025. Featuring key pieces from the 1990s, the exhibition highlights Tillmans’ distinctive approach to portraiture, still life, and abstraction. All works come to market for the first time, with estimates ranging from £3,000 to £120,000.
The exhibition captures a transformative cultural era, reflecting Tillmans’ engagement with themes of identity, intimacy, and the everyday. Among the highlights is Kate Sitting (1996), a striking portrait of Kate Moss that embodies the effortless cool of the decade. With this collection, Tillmans reaffirms his role in redefining photography as both documentary and artistic expression. Following the exhibition, the works will be offered in Christie’s Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale in London on March 6th and online from February 26 th to March 12th, 2025.
