Miu Miu has unveiled the latest episode in the Women’s Tales series, I’m the beautiful of you beautiful, I’m the scared of you scared, written and directed by Chui Mui Tan.
Malaysian filmmaker Chui Mui Tan explores themes of self-discovery in her latest Miu Miu project. Internationally acclaimed for films such as Love Conquers All and Invasion of the Barbarians, Tan brings her unique perspective to I am the beauty of your beauty, I am the fear of your fear.
Through encounters with an Indian flower seller and the myth of Kali, the goddess of time and change, Tan describes the film as a Chinese girl’s journey to find herself in Malaysia. As the protagonist, Gita, confronts her fears, she discovers inner strength and beauty. It is an exploration of women’s self-protection in a challenging modern world. Gita finds support and friendship as she sheds emotional burdens and uncovers ancient strengths.
