Christian Pellizzari’s illuminated ode to nature

Christian Pellizzari’s latest project, Frosted Mirror Syriacus, debuts at NOMAD St. Moritz 2025, presented by Nilufar. On view from February 20th to March 10th at the Hotel Waldhaus Am See, the installation is a striking fusion of glass and light, evoking the delicate balance between nature and art. Set against the snow-covered landscape of Engadine, the work explores themes of resilience and renewal.

The installation consists of sculptural compositions inspired by flora and fauna, with illuminated glass elements that shimmer like ice. Positioned outdoors, Pellizzari’s luminous forms appear to merge with the natural environment, transforming the frozen landscape into a meditative space. The project extends beyond aesthetics, encouraging reflection on the relationship between humanity and the environment.

Nilufar’s founder, Nina Yashar, describes Pellizzari’s creations as objects that engage in dialogue with their surroundings, embodying a refined and poetic design language. As one of NOMAD’s highlights, Frosted Mirror Syriacus reinforces the fair’s commitment to showcasing visionary works that bridge art, design, and nature. Visitors to St. Moritz will witness a luminous interplay of form and light, where contemporary craftsmanship meets the timeless beauty of the alpine world.
