In a landmark fusion of fashion, theater, and performance art, Jordan Roth premiered Radical Acts of Unrelenting Beauty at the Musée du Louvre on July 10th, 2025. Staged in the iconic Cour Marly during the museum’s inaugural Nuit de la Mode, this bold, emotionally charged work marked both Roth’s debut as a performance artist and a standout moment of Paris Haute Couture Week.
Jordan Roth’s performance explores identity through couture and choreography
Presented in three poetic acts, the thirty-minute piece examined the body as both subject and canvas—where fashion becomes a language of self-mythology and transformation. As Roth later reflected, the work explores how we see ourselves anew through acts of creation and perception. In Act I, a projected Dior Haute Couture gown by John Galliano, originally exhibited in the Louvre’s Napoleon Apartments, appears in glowing red light. Slowly, it pulses, shifts, and dissolves into white—becoming not just garment but metaphor, a visual dialogue on projection, perception, and change.
From Broadway to Jordan Roth Louvre debut
Long known as a Broadway producer and haute couture collector, Roth has now stepped into a new role as multidisciplinary artist, blending personal history, theatrical ritual, and avant-garde design. Accompanied by a haunting score composed by Thomas Roussel and performed by a 30-piece string orchestra, Radical Acts of Unrelenting Beauty was not just a performance—it was a declaration. As Roth continues to build his artistic legacy, this world premiere signals the beginning of a daring new chapter.
