Daniel Arsham 20 years

Over the past 20 years, there has been a truly great collaboration between New York-based artist Daniel Arsham and Emmanuel Perrotin, founder of Perrotin. To celebrate this extraordinary partnership, dual solo exhibitions will be held at Perrotin art galleries in Paris and New York. Visitors will have the opportunity to see a wide range of Arsham’s work, from paintings and sculptures to architectural interventions and installations, including a new collaboration with Star Wars.

“I met Daniel when he was 22 years old, an emerging artist living in his studio, and I was immediately drawn to his incredible talent and distinct vision,” says Emmanuel Perrotin about the artist. Arsham breaks through barriers of time, creating relics in which his signature “eroded” style intersects with everyday objects and Renaissance-like sculptures. In his work, Daniel brings a series of art pieces into the future, creating corrosion that is encrusted with crystals and other geological materials. Visitors will be immersed in the installations, where the space transforms into surreal dreamscapes, famous fossilised relics are displayed, and never-before-seen sketches on hotel stationery are finally brought to the gallery walls.

Daniel Arsham 20 Years will be on view at Perrotin galleries in Paris from September 2 to October 7, 2023, and in New York from September 6 to October 14, 2023.
