To mark its 155th anniversary, Penhaligon’s unveils a rare artistic collaboration with Maggi Hambling, transforming one of the house’s most iconic fragrances into a true collector’s object. The project centres on Endymion Concentré and launches alongside the reopening of the brand’s Regent Street flagship in London, with the limited edition now available exclusively at Penhaligon’s boutiques on Regent Street, at Dubai Mall, and in New York.
Rooted in shared ideas of myth, nocturne, and emotion, the collaboration brings together Hambling’s expressive visual language and Penhaligon’s heritage of storytelling through scent. Inspired by the ancient myth of Endymion and the moon, the fragrance becomes a canvas for the artist’s signature indigo tones and her long-standing fascination with night, sea, and intimacy—an affinity she describes as “a love story that is eternal.”
Endymion Concentré as an artistic medium
For this collaboration, Endymion Concentré is presented not simply as a perfume, but as an art object. Only 155 bottles have been produced, each one hand-numbered and engraved to reflect the house’s 155-year history. Every bottle is finished with a bespoke indigo ribbon designed by Hambling herself, reinforcing the dialogue between scent and visual art.
Each piece is housed in a specially designed case and accompanied by a signed print from one of the artist’s ink drawings, further blurring the boundary between fragrance and fine art.
Collectable perfumes at the intersection of art and craft
Positioned firmly within the world of collectable perfumes, this edition highlights Penhaligon’s commitment to craftsmanship, rarity, and cultural dialogue. The collaboration reflects a broader movement in luxury fragrance toward limited, artist-led editions that appeal as much to collectors as to perfume connoisseurs.
