Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura will design the unusual stepped portal that will provide access to Utamo, the final destination of the Neom mega-project. The monumental 64-metre-high portal, framed by stone blocks, will be an important chord in the perception of and access to Utamo, as even the approach to it is conceived by the architects as a very romantic path.
The portal, which narrows as you approach the theatre, marks a semantic transition between a natural landscape and a space where art, complemented by innovative technologies, will reign supreme. Utamo is the theatre of the future, where the greatest artists will gather, and claims to be the most extraordinary theatre in the world. Audiences and visitors to this space will have a truly unique experience. Utamo, which will be Neom’s eighth destination, will also feature VIP lounges and signature restaurants.
10 destinations are planned for Neom. These include the octagonal port city Oxagon, mirror metropolis The Line and island resort Sindala.
