Dior has collaborated with Japanese artist Otani Workshop to create a whimsical capsule collection of quirky character pieces. At the heart of the collaboration is Tanilla, a small green ceramic monster created by the renowned contemporary sculptor. Tanilla graces a variety of garments, making a bold statement on oversized jumpers and a subtle appearance on bomber jackets and short-sleeved T-shirts. The playful creature also adorns the new B33 tennis sneakers and a selection of hand accessories, reflecting classic Dior symbols including the Dior Oblique Toile and traditional Dior lettering in vibrant shades of burgundy and pink. Christian Dior Couture branding adds a finishing touch to the collection, appearing on a pair of slouchy trousers.
Long regarded as one of Japan’s leading ceramic artists, Otani Workshop excels at blending traditional artistic techniques with contemporary practices, a skill that is evident in his latest collaboration with Dior. The Dior x Otani Workshop collection will be available in boutiques and on the brand’s webstore from 4 January.
