A Cycle of Harmony of Interconnected Moments

The opening of the Azabudai Hills Gallery in Tokyo, part of Heatherwick Studio’s mixed-use complex, is celebrated with Olafur Eliasson’s exhibition A Cycle of Harmony of Interconnected Moments, which runs until 31 March. The exhibition features new and past works, including installations, sculptures, paintings and photographs by the Icelandic-Danish artist. Among the highlights is Eliasson’s monumental work Harmonious Cycle of Interconnected Now, on display in the Mori JP Tower office lobby, consisting of four suspended spiral sculptures with mathematically derived geometric modules. The exhibition explores Eliasson’s broader artistic interests, with the newly unveiled public artwork at its center.

The exhibition features over 15 artworks debuting in Japan, including the stunning Firefly Biosphere (falling magma star) (2023), a geometric sculpture that captures intricately refracted light. Another highlight is Your Split Second House (2010), in which strobe-lit water droplets traverse a 20-metre-long dark space.
