This fall, the Nasher Sculpture Center in Dallas will unveil SURVEY: Antony Gormley, the artist’s first major U.S. retrospective, running from September 13th, 2025, to January 4th, 2026. Spanning over four decades of work, the exhibition examines Gormley’s enduring exploration of the human body in relation to space, material, and perception.
Expanding beyond the museum walls, new site-specific sculptures will appear atop downtown Dallas skyscrapers, their stainless steel forms catching and refracting light against the city’s skyline. Inside, key works engage in dialogue with the Nasher’s architecture, continuing Gormley’s study of how sculpture defines and disrupts space.
A dedicated gallery will feature archival models of his large-scale public works, such as Angel of the North, alongside decades of sketches and notebooks. Reflecting on the exhibition, Gormley describes it as a “test site” for sculpture—an invitation for viewers to experience form and void in a new way.
