Generator consists of a 25-metre-long, 3-metre-high, and 2.5-meter-wide wall featuring 15 sets distributed along its length. Each set contains three pink quartz stones sourced from Minas Gerais.
In the midst of a turbulent human history marked by war, violence, poverty and environmental degradation, a site-specific public artwork presented by Marina Abramović emerges as a response to reconnect with nature and restore our lost spiritual centre. Rapid technological advances have distanced us from the natural world, eroding our intuitive abilities, telepathy and even our ability to recall dreams.
The artwork serves as an invitation for the public to interact with the pink quartz crystals and their inherent energy. By engaging and embracing stillness, the artist aims to facilitate a reawakening of people’s connection to the revitalising energy of the present moment, promoting a greater sense of mindfulness and alignment with the environment.
