Artist Jonathan Baldock has crafted a whimsical window display for Hermès’ flagship store on New Bond Street, London. Entitled Take a Peek, the installation transforms the store’s five windows into a playful, interactive experience, featuring vibrant hedges dotted with peepholes that invite passers-by to peer into a fantastical world. Drawing inspiration from the secret garden above Hermès’ Paris store, Baldock brings his signature use of bold colors, sacred geometry, and a deep connection to nature into the design.
Blurring the lines between public and private, the windows offer a lighthearted, imaginative touch, where curious viewers can spot charming characters in various whimsical scenes. Pieces from Hermès’ FW 2024 collection are seamlessly woven into these playful settings, enhancing the display’s creative narrative. Made from hundreds of leather leaves sourced sustainably from Hermès’ development department, the installation captures the shifting hues of autumn.
Take a Peek will be on display at Hermès, 155 New Bond Street, London, until November 1st, 2024.
