Mariane Ibrahim presents Amoako Boafo’s first solo exhibition in Mexico City, entitled The one that got away. The exhibition features the artist’s signature expressive figurations and his first exploration of the mediums of mosaic and stained glass. Boafo aims to capture the natural vitality of his subjects through captivating patterns and colors, with each portrait representing a connection to the artist across generations.
The exhibition is a contemplative space to explore transitions and transformations, with Boafo’s canvases inviting viewers on a liberating journey while reflecting on loyalty and resilience in the artist’s introspective work. The exhibition runs from February 7 to May 4, 2024.
