Acne Studios FW 2024 show

Acne Studios AW 2024 show

Acne Studios designed a striking set for the AW24 show during Paris Fashion Week. Rubber-tyred chairs, created by Estonian artist Villu Jaanisoo, were used to stage the brand’s presentations. Lent to the brand at Jonny Johansson’s request, these furniture bodies stood out in the showroom, complementing the brand’s edgy, biker-inspired collection of leather and denim. Jaanisoo’s recycling approach involves sculpting industrial materials into organic forms, including rubber ducks, household furniture, and ocean waves made from old speakers and fluorescent tubes.

Jaanisoo said in a statement before the show that environmental concerns have influenced his work, but he finds the history of recycled materials even more fascinating. Inspired by Baroque masters who carved divine figures from hard marble, Jaanisoo’s process involves considerable physical effort and a discerning eye.
