Inside Art Paris 2026: a fair shaped by language, memory, and new voices

From 9th to 12th April, Art Paris 2026 will return to the Grand Palais, reaffirming its position as a highlight in the international art calendar. The fair brings together around 165 galleries from over twenty countries and offers a dynamic overview of contemporary creation. Emerging artists and established names come together here, and themes such as art and language shape the narrative of this edition.

‘Art and Language’ and ‘Reparation’ are the central themes

This year’s art fair is shaped by Babel: Art and Language in France, a curated programme conceived by Loïc Le Gall. Bringing together around 20 artists, the project explores how language functions within contemporary art, approaching it as an image, a structure and a conceptual tool. Spanning text-based practices and symbolic systems, the project frames art as a space where meaning is constantly formed and redefined.

Alongside this, curator Alexia Fabre presents Réparation, an international theme exploring healing, memory and reconstruction. Together, these two strands establish Art Paris 2026 as a reflective and forward-looking event that thoughtfully engages with the complexities of the present.

Emerging artist platforms and key sections

This edition places a strong emphasis on emerging artists. The Promesses sector, curated by Marc Donnadieu, showcases galleries that are less than ten years old, providing a platform for fresh perspectives and innovative approaches. Located on the balconies of the Grand Palais, it showcases 27 young galleries, almost half of which are participating for the first time.

The Solo Show section complements this by featuring 24 monographic presentations, which allow for deeper engagement with individual practices across generations. Meanwhile, the French Design Art Edition broadens the scope of the fair to include contemporary design and decorative arts, further reinforcing its multidisciplinary approach.

Highlights from the Art Fair’s leading galleries

Across the fair, curated presentations from leading galleries showcase historical depth and contemporary experimentation.

In 2026, Art Paris 2026 will once again transform the Grand Palais into a space for discovery, where art, language and material experimentation converge with the voices of emerging artists to reflect the evolving landscape of contemporary art. Don’t miss this opportunity to experience the full spectrum of contemporary art today!
